The Velvet Apple

Serves four


  • 150ml Edwards English Potato Vodka
  • 750ml Cloudy Apple Juice
  • 100ml Dark Spiced Rum
  • 1 Star Anise
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 3 Cloves
  • A Teaspoon of Ground Ginger
  • Garnish: 1 Apple – cut into half moons & 4 Star
  • Anise (1 per glass)


  • 4 x Copper Goblets with Handles
  • Glass Cups with handles Saucepan with Lid Large Stirring Spoon Jigger


  • Pour the apple juice into the saucepan and add the dried spices.
  • Put the lid on. On low heat, gently bring the liquid to the boil.
  • Once it boils, turn off the heat and add the vodka and rum. Gently stir and leave for 5 minutes.
  • Serve. Decorate with a half-moon of apple and a star anise in each serving.
