Our beating heart.
Proud of our craft, we make 100% of our alcohol from raw ingredients and control the whole process ourselves. The distillery is an integral part of this, giving us both the ability and artistic license to create a base spirit that is completely our own.
While some think we named our copper still after Jo and Ben’s cocker spaniel, Bertie, who is coincidentally a similar golden colour, it was actually the nickname of our main ingredient’s namesake, King Edward VII.

Bertie is the beating heart of the newly established Elsham Wold Distillery, located just a few miles from the farms where our main ingredient is cultivated. The distillery fired up in December 2019 and we are excited to be fulfilling a seven-year ambition of producing premium Edwards 1902 English potato vodka.
