Edwards 1902 secures prestigious IWSC award

Our single-variety, English potato vodka, launched just months ago, has today secured a Silver Spirit 2020 award in the International Wine and Spirit Competition. Edwards 1902 scored an impressive 92 out of a possible 100 in the double-blind taste test – outscoring some more established vodka brands and providing important industry support in the spirit’s debut year.

The carefully selected, expert panellists described our first spirit as “a sweet, clean and cooling spirit with mineral notes and an earthy depth”. The IWSC’s accolade further strengthens our faith in the belief that locally-produced spirits from natural ingredients can transcend the popular craft market and conquer the premium spirits industry.

“A sweet, clean and cooling spirit with mineral notes and an earthy depth.” – IWCS judges

Taking pride in our craft, our small but highly skilled team control the whole process ourselves – from soil to spirit – using a unique combination of skills. From market-leading agronomy techniques to a unique distillation process and distinctive packaging, we are passionate in our pursuit of perfection.

“It’s fantastic to receive such important industry support during our debut year with Edwards 1902. The taste of our English potato vodka has always been the absolute priority for us, and we’ve been relentless in pursuing our goal of producing one of the smoothest, sipping vodkas on the market today.

My family has been proudly farming Lincolnshire Limestone King Edward potatoes for over a century so we’re extremely familiar with the variety and we knew that its superior eating qualities and creamy texture made it the perfect base ingredient for a single variety vodka.

To have that recognised by such a respected, international organisation with an IWSC Silver Spirit 2020 award will give customers the confidence to discover the great taste of Edwards 1902, knowing it has passed meticulous tests of quality and taste.” – Richard Arundel, Founder.
